  1. Halloween

Halloween is a must watch. This movie was released back in 1978 and today, it is still at the top of the “must watch” during Halloween lists.

Here’s the plot …

On Halloween night, in 1963, a 6 year old boy named Michael Myers stabbed his sister to death. After 15 years of staying in a mental hospital, he escaped and returned back to his hometown to kill, yet again.

Sounds creepy, right? Even if you have watched this before, you should watch it again.

  1. Hocus Pocus

Director: Kenny Ortega

Hocus PocusEvery year, Hocus Pocus comes on television. There’s a reason for this – it’s one of the best Halloween movies ever and it is a perfect family movie (rated PG).

Here’s the plot …

It all takes place in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night. After three centuries have passed, three witches (they’re all sisters) are resurrected. It is up to two teenagers and an immortal cat to stop the witches from wrecking havoc.

Go ahead, curl up on the couch, either alone or with your family, and watch this movie. It’s not exactly scary, but it definitely deserves its spot on the list of the top five Halloween movies.

  1. Trick r’ Treat

Director: Michael Dougherty

If you’re down for watching something creepy, give this one a shot.

Here’s the plot …

Trick r’ Treat consists of four interwoven stories that takes place on October 31st. A college virgin thinks she met the right guy; a high school principal is living a secret life as a seriel killer; a woman who loathes the night challengers her husband who is obsessed with the holiday; a group of teens play a horrible prank.

  1. Satan’s Little Helper

Director: Jeff Lieberman

Satan's Little HelperSatan’s Little Helper is a movie that you must see and if you’ve already seen it, feel free to go ahead and watch it again (it’s definitely worth it).

Here’s the plot …

It all starts when a little boy becomes the pawn of a serial killer and he doesn’t even realize it. Simply put, he becomes “Satan’s little helper.”

This movie is rated R, so you may want to leave the little ones out of the room for this one.

 

  1. Halloween II

Director: Rob Zombie

rob zombieThat’s right, Halloween II was directed by the American musician, screen writer, film director and film producer, Rob Zombie. When I first heard about Rob Zombie directing this movie, I couldn’t wait to watch it. Was it worth it? In my opinion, yes.

Here’s the plot …

Laurie Strode, Michael Myers sister, starts to struggle with the idea that her brother has returned back to Haddonfield, Illinois. Meanwhile, Michael is busy preparing for yet, another reunion with Laurie Strode.

This movie is rated R and the little ones should definitely be in bed when you watch this. Despite it all, I believe it is a pretty good movie and definitely deserves it’s spot on this list.

Now that you have the top five Halloween movies ever, it is time to break out with the popcorn and watch them with the lights off. Go ahead, I dare you …
