I need some ideas for a Poison Ivy (from Batman) costume. I have been planning on making my own costume for Halloween and a bunch of my friends decided to get together a group of the batman villains. We decided that i should be poison ivy because I already have the hair color. I need some ideas about a plus size costume (about a size 16) that isn’t skin tight or revealing. I also need some ideas on how I should do my hair and makeup. Any pictures, patterns, or designs would be a big help.

Pirate girls are "wenches". Princesses are wearing miniskirts and more makeup than the clowns. Tube tops, fishnets, poses straight out of the lingerie catalog.

Have costume companies gone too far? Are parents letting their children dress too provacatively for trick or treating?

(No I don’t have children… just an observation after costume shopping)

My bf is going as Bret Michaels this Halloween and I am going to be his little groupie girlfriend. I have the perfect costume that I gathered up at my local thrift store. I need help with all the details… makeup… nails. I have a wig that has the awesome wave style bangs and crimped hair. I plan on spraying a little pink, purple, and glitter hair color spray into the hair mess. I want really outrageous nails and am not sure how to do them (im 22 so cant really remember the details of 80s fashion) For my makeup I plan on doing hot pink lips and different bright colored eyeshadows with blue eyeliner. Should I have funky eyelashes or would that be too much? Thanks for any suggestions!!

Sitting here on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and watching "The Warriors" Director’s cut…one of my fave’s…and wondering how authentic this movie is. I do realize, and have studied, the 60s and 70s gangs quite a bit but the makeup and scarlet shirts/ties…essentially the costumes…surprised me. Is this something that went on here in the city back then? Thanks!

oh, and I don’t want the fringe vest-bellbottoms-look. I want more of a go-go look or maybe a goucho jumpsuit kind of thing.

okay so every year for cross country we have a meet at our school and the girl team always has a theme. this year we’re going with 80s fashion with side ponytails, crazy makeup, gaudy jewlery, glitter, leggings, etc.

where could i find cheap legwarmers in neon colors? and i really don’t want them to cost a lot because we’re only using them for one day.

and if you have any other suggestions of what else we could add to our attire, that would be greatt!!

Pants: Neon footless tights with jean skirt

Shoes:i really don’t know…HELP! I’m not sure what shoes to wear cuz I’m only 12

Accessories: Big cheep plastic earrings, Giant plastic cross necklace, jelly bracelets, plastic neon bangles, headband with GIANT bow.

Makeup: Bright sparkley blue eye shadow, hot pink shiny lip stick, bright red blush, fake lashes and some eye liner. Too much for a 12 year old? Its for my cousins 30th b-day.

Any other ideas. The Party is in june so i have time.

Lol I don’t get all decked out in a formal dress or anything, even though I do wear summer dresses like from Abercrombie and UO, Forever21 to school I like to dance so thats a bad idea lmaoo. But I always have to wear a great fitted pair of jeans, does not have to be skinny unless I’m wearing a flowy top but preferrably dark wash. And flats usually cuz its a dance you have to look hot! -Dark wash skinny jeans, tight bright purple cami&&white flats. with this cute silver peace sign necklace and other jewelry. My hair would be all curly and wavy for a change, since its usually straightened. My makeup would be cute.

All my accessories are red to pull out the color in the dress, except for my glasses which are blue. I’ve been trying to figure how to do my hair and makeup though. I’m leaning towards a classic pinup look, but I’m concerned it will look too much like a costume. How can I rock a 50s vintage look without being too over the top?

That’s basically it. I say affordable, however, because it seemed he was always wearing a suit in the 80’s pictures I’ve seen… extra points if you can find me a costume he maintained some of his androgyny/makeup in.
