I am planning a costume but I have no idea what the fabric is called. I remember as a kid (70s) there was a fan fold type fabric which used to be used for girls skirts, polyester with about a 1 inch type back and forth fold on it. Do they make this anymore? what is it called?

I’m a freshman this year, and I’m going to be in a pageant at my high school.
The theme of the pageant is "Rock The Night Away" and for the opening number, all of the girls have to wear poodle skirts.

for my talent, I’m going to sing, but, I’m having a problem on finding a song.
I figured I would do a song that kind of goes with the theme of the pageant, but, I have no clue what would really go with that.
I was thinking something from a musical, but I’m not really sure.

So, does anyone know what a good song would be to sing for the talent portion of the pageant?
and, could you kind of suggest an outfit to wear while singing?
to fit the song.

btw, the talent portion can only be 90 seconds (1:30) long.
so, I either need a really short song, or, a song that would be good to cut.

For my play this friday it is a 50’s review.

So far I have this zipup white sweater with a collar and sequins, light blue jean capris, black ballet flats and a ribbon to tie around my ponytail. Would this fit for 50s style? Here are a few questions as well:

1) Did they wear pearls in the 50s? Like, pearl necklaces or bracelets?
2) Did girls cuff their capris in the 50s?
3) Did girls wear ballet flats in the 50s?

I LOVE halloween! I love going all out but last year i was forced to keep it simple b/c the 8 other girls i was doing it with couldnt be mature and agree on something so we had to settle for the pink ladies. Now this year as freshman, me and my 4 closest friends want to have a unique, sexy, yet appropriate for school costumes.
