You could find a coat with the same basic shape as your Chinese dress. A black wig if your hair isn’t black…definitely wear it up. You might even be able to find a wig that is black and already set up to look like it’s an updo. Wear some really light base makeup and over do your make-up to makeit very prominent. I’d get some of those false eyelashes with sparkles on them too! You could make a candy bag or purse out of some sari fabric (about 1/4 yard) and make the handles out of satin rope and tassels from the home decor/drapery section; it would be shaped like a tote bag. Just fold the fabric in half and sew it up the sides, hem the top (even if you use just the iron on hem), and tack the rope down with a needle and thread. You can get pre-made bags that you just attach your choice of handles to as well…get one and paint a Chinese letter on it as big as the bag, and choose the black laquered handles or the bamboo handles. And wear flipflops. If it’s too cold for flipflops, wear flesh colored socks over your shoes or slippers and paint the straps over your footand between your toes on the socks.
If you wear flipflops, paint little cherry blossoms on your toenails!
